site.btaFour Bulgarian Films and Two Co-Productions to Be Screened at "Kinematograf" Short Film Platform

A selection of four Bulgarian films and two Bulgarian co-productions — with Italy and Estonia — will be presented at the Kinematograf short film platform on June 4 in Sofia, the organizers announced on Tuesday.

Among the evening’s highlights will be Talking Heads or People of Duty or This Is Definitely Not Propaganda by director Kristiyan Petrov, Mirrored Touch by Roman Pesarov, The Chatterbox by Kalina Goranova and Alexa Trayanova, On the Bare Hills by director Dimitar Kutmanov, and Kaleidoscopio by Simeon Stoilov.

The event in Sofia will feature meetings with members of the teams from three of the films. Roman Pesarov, Kristiyan Petrov, and Alexa Trayanova will speak with the audience. Screenings are also planned in Varna, Burgas, Ruse, and Veliko Tarnovo.

Talking Heads or People of Duty or This Is Definitely Not Propaganda follows two absurd street preachers, each convinced they hold the absolute truth, as fate throws them into an inevitable and merciless clash.

In Mirrored Touch, the main character Viktor suffers from a rare sensory disorder but discovers he can feel everything experienced by the mysterious Dia, with whom he shares an inexplicable connection.

The Chatterbox is an animated satire: you order a taxi and get the quintessential Balkan driver — white tank top, cigarette, pop-folk music, and the eternal refrain: “They ruined this country.”

On the Bare Hills tells the story of introverted Zhanna, who finds comfort in an old, chained dog far from her despotic foster father. Their bond collapses when he discovers it.

In Kaleidoscopio, the protagonist Giacomo gives up his passion for painting to work a soulless office job under his father’s pressure, but his girlfriend Margo encourages him to break out of his shell and rediscover his true self.
