The Kosovo Philharmonic will perform at Bulgaria Hall in Sofia on May 17. This is the orchestra’s first-ever visit to Bulgaria, and the concert marks the 25th anniversary of its founding. The event symbolizes cultural rapprochement between Kosovo and Bulgaria, the Sofia Philharmonic said.
The conductor will be Maestro Nayden Todorov, who has close ties to Kosovo’s musical history. He will be joined by soprano Besa Llugiqi and saxophonist Vitaly Vatulya as soloists.
The programme will feature works by Rexho Mulliqi – Baresha (The Shepherdess), Valton Beqiri – AlBalkanika, Giacomo Puccini – Un bel dì, vedremo (from Madama Butterfly), Giuseppe Verdi – Overture to Nabucco and È strano... Sempre libera (from La Traviata), Kreshnik Alickaj – Symphony No. 2, and Manuel de Falla – The Three-Cornered Hat, Suite No. 2.
