The development of Sofia over the years, shown in 60 panels, will be presented in an exhibition, titled "Maps of Sofia". It will open on May 7 at the Lovers' Bridge in Sofia next to the National Palace of Culture and will continue until the 20th, Sofia Municipality said.
Maps of Sofia traces how the neighborhoods were formed, how the infrastructure, the transport network, green spaces, the water and sanitation network developed, not just plans and drawings, but the living history of the city, the team noted.
"The exhibition also reaches the most modern concepts for city management, based on a digital twin and data spaces. They focus on urban data when creating policies for the development of the urban environment and facilitate innovation," the organizers said.
They added that the exhibition includes visualizations and maps from: OP Sofiaplan, GIS-Sofia EOOD, Sofia University - GATE Institute, Boyan Yurukov, NGO Data for Good, EdnoDarvo Foundation, Sofiyska Voda, part of Veolia, Sofia Municipality.
