Exhibition of Prof. Dobri Dobrev, Milko Bozhkov and Mimi Dobreva will open at Gallery Arte in Sofia on December 3, the organizers said on Friday. It will be on display until December 20.

The team notes that for the first time in nearly 30 years, paintings by prof. Dobri Dobrev are presented in an exhibition. "Even in the anniversary celebration, in which students of prof. Dobrev celebrated 45 years since their graduation, there were no works by him," they said.

Prof. Dobri Dobrev was born in 1927 and died in 2003. In 1949, Dobrev was admitted to the Nikolai Pavlovich Higher Institute of Fine Arts (later renamed to National Academy of Art), majoring in painting, and from 1956 to 1960 he was a teacher at the National School of Fine Arts in Sofia. After 1961 he worked as assistant professor of painting at the Higher Institute of Fine Arts. His works are owned by the National Art Gallery, the Sofia City Art Gallery, other galleries and private collections at home and abroad.

Milko Bozhkov was born before 1977. He graduated in painting at the National Academy of Art under Prof. Dobri Dobrev. He had more than 100 solo exhibitions in Bulgaria, Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Russia, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany and France, as well as over 150 participations in group exhibitions and biennials of graphic art, drawing and painting in Bulgaria, USA, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, Malaysia, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, the Netherlands and elsewhere.

Mimi Dobreva was born in 1977. She graduated in painting at the National Academy of Art under prof. Dobrev. She has had dozens of solo exhibitions, as well as many participations in artistic projects in Bulgaria, Germany, Hungary, Croatia, etc.
