On the occasion of the Day of European Authors, March 25, 2024, the State Institute for Culture at the Minister of Foreign Affairs invited Bulgarian children's writer Petya Kokudeva to The Mission gallery in Sofia to read her works.

The Day of European Authors is an initiative of the European Commission which was launched in 2023 by the then Commissioner responsible for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth Mariya Gabriel and is held annually on the last Monday of March in order to promote reading, especially among young people.

Petya Kokudeva, born in 1982 in Smolyan, southern Bulgaria, is a children’s book writer and a globe-trotter. She has majored in journalism and obtained a master’s degree in creative writing. Petya is a multi-winner of national literary awards for best children’s book. Some of her texts have been turned into songs; others are included in pupil textbooks. She has authored several educational books as well: a series of funny teaching aids, a book on respecting food and not wasting it.
