World-famous Uruguayan baritone Erwin Schrott will visit Bulgara for the first time at the end of October. He will open the season for the Intimate Voices concert series, organized by Sonya Yoncheva's company SY11.
On October 27 Schrott will perform tango pieces at Bulgaria Hall. The production enjoys huge interest around the world and is critically acclaimed, organizers said.
Sonya Yoncheva is expected to arrive for the concert.
Erwin Schrott was born in Montevideo, Uruguay. He made his operatic debut at 22 in the opera Andrea Chenier. He has won the Operalia contest and according to the critics is one of the best Mozart performers. Schrott performs regularly at La Scala, Metropolitan, Paris Opera, the Bavarian State Opera, the Washington National Opera, Teatro Colon, and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden.
