World-famous French tenor Roberto Alagna and his wife, Polish soprano Aleksandra Kurzak, performed a concert in Hall 1 of Sofia's National Palace of Culture (NDK) on Friday. Under the baton of maestro Nayden Todorov, the singers performed arias and duets from operas by Puccini, Mascagni, Leoncavallo, Cilea and Umberto Giordano.
It has been a while since there was a concert that made the audience this enthusiastic, the organizers of the event from the Sofia Philharmonic said after the performance.
In a career spanning almost 40 years, Alagna has a repertoire that includes more than sixty opera roles – Alfredo, Calaf, Canio, Cavaradossi, Don Carlos, Faust, Lohengrin, Manrico, Maurizio, Nemorino, Otello, among others. Alagna is considered the most famous French tenor in the world.
