The Council of Ministers is set to discuss at its regular meeting on Wednesday a draft decision approving a request to establish the unconstitutionality of a National Assembly decision adopted on March 13, 2026, concerning measures to address the price shock caused by high crude oil and natural gas prices, the government’s press service said.

On March 13 Parliament tasked the Cabinet with taking urgent measures to limit the negative economic consequences of high commodity prices. The decision, submitted by MRF - New Beginning and adopted with 97 votes in favour, 20 against and 19 abstentions, requires the caretaker Government to develop and adopt measures to support the most vulnerable social groups with incomes below the poverty line, including by expanding energy assistance programmes.

The draft agenda of the Council of Ministers also includes proposed decisions approving funding for 2026 for the State Agency Technical Operations and the Ministry of Justice.

The caretaker government is also expected to discuss financing for the Ministry of Interior for the same year.
