Bulgarian Railways (BDZ) will carry out two trips with a vintage steam locomotive for narrow-gauge enthusiasts at the beginning of June. The first ride will be on June 1 for International Children's Day, and the second will take place on Sunday, June 4.

The attraction trips are organized on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of the establishment of BDZ.

The composition will be headed by steam locomotive 609.76, also known as "The Little Teapot", and will will move along the route Septemvri - Velingrad - Septemvri, departing from Septemvri station at 9:15 am and arriving in Velingrad at noon after two stops at Varvara and Dolene stations, where passengers will be able to enjoy and photograph the beautiful views. After a little more than two hours of free time in the resort town, the attraction train will depart from Velingrad station at 2:15 pm back to Septemvri station, where it will arrive at 4:05 pm.

Locomotive 609.76, "The Little Teapot",  arrived in Bulgaria at the end of 1949. It was put into operation on December 21 of the same year. In the early 1970s, the railways stopped using it and it was abandoned. It was subsequently listed as a museum piece. In 2004, the engine was restored as a working museum locomotive and now regularly serves tourist and attraction trips on the line.

The price of the ticket for travel in both directions Septemvri - Velingrad - Septemvri is BGN 68, and for all children up to 10 years of age the tickets will be half price.

Tickets for these trains can be purchased from ticket offices and railway desks at all stations in the country. Seats in narrow-gauge carriages and ticket quantities are limited.
