site.btaSpace Research and Technology Institute Signs MOC with Leading Chinese Centre

The Space Research and Technology Institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (SRTI-BAS) has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Deep Space Exploration Laboratory (DSEL) - a leading Chinese centre in the field of deep space exploration, the BAS said on Friday.

The signing ceremony was held at the building of SRTI-BAS.

The event was attended by representatives of DSEL and the Chinese embassy in Bulgaria, BAS said.

During the meeting, the leading research and priorities of the two institutions were presented, focusing on: lunar missions and analysis of samples from the Chang’e 5 and 6 missions, research in space biology and environment, development of CubeSat technologies, opportunities for future joint participation in international projects dedicated to the Moon and deep space, the academy said.

The discussions outlined next steps to implement joint scientific projects and expand bilateral cooperation.
