"I hadn’t had an exhibition for a long time. What I did was inspired by the flowering of the Japanese cherry tree,” said painter Vezhdi Rashidov on Thursday evening at the opening of the exhibition "Game" which includes 20 watercolours and four sculptures at the Vejdi Gallery.

"The sculptures are variations on the theme of 'The Japanese Woman'. An artist who has mastered the human figure, the human face, can afford anything," said Prof. Chavdar Popov, a critic and art historian, and a long-time friend of Rashidov.

Vezhdi Rashidov said that it was a secret for many people that he had worked for six months in Japan together with the artist Zahari Kamenov. "I have over eight exhibitions from Sapporo to Sakura."

Among the official guests of the event were Georgi Parvanov (President of Bulgaria in the period 2002-2012), National Assembly Chair Rossen Zhelyazkov, BTA Director General Kiril Valchev, journalists, MPs, artists, connoisseurs.
