The Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science reported on Monday that 29 students and schoolchildren received scholarships under the 2025 Youth Scholarship - Bulgarian-Chinese Friendship Programme. Their certificates were presented at an official ceremony by the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Bulgaria, Dai Qingli, and by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Emilia Lazarova.

The scholarship has been awarded annually since 2021 and aims to encourage Bulgarian students and schoolchildren to learn Chinese, to recognize their academic achievements and efforts, and to deepen the friendship between young people from Bulgaria and China. The initiative supports language talents and deepens the partnership between the two countries.

Lazarova said at the event: "I hope that our successful cooperation will continue and that we will achieve even better results, because China is a country with which we have a strategic partnership, and relations in the field of education and science are at an exceptionally high level."

The ceremony was attended by rectors, lecturers, and award-winning students from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo, South-West University Neofit Rilski - Blagoevgrad, and Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv.
