Bulgarian Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev met with India's Ambassador Bulgaria, Arun Kumar Sahu, the Foreign Ministry said on Monday. Both sides praised the traditional friendly relations and close cooperation and expressed their commitment to further strengthen them.
The importance of high-level political dialogue in advancing Bulgarian-Indian partnership was highlighted. In this context, Georgiev confirmed an invitation to the Indian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, to visit Bulgaria, as well as the Ministry’s readiness to host the next round of political consultations at the deputy minister level.
Georgiev noted that concrete steps have been taken to support business, employers, science and education, including a twofold increase in the capacity of the Consular Service in New Delhi and facilitation of the long-term visa application process (D visa) for India.
The sides emphasized the potential for cooperation in education, innovation, investment and technology transfer, among other areas.
