site.btaFive Parties, Five Nomination Committees Submit Registration Documents for Presidential Election
Five parties and five nomination committees had submitted documents for registration for the October 25 presidential election by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, the Central Election Commission (CEC) said on Facebook.
The parties are Vazrazhdane, Pravoto [The Law] party, Movement for Rights and Freedoms, Bulgarian Social Democracy - EuroLeft, and the Truth and Only the Truth People's Party.
Submissions for registration also came from nomination committees for the following independent candidates:
Lachezar Asparuhov Avramov for president and Ivaylo Drazhev Atanasov for vice president, represented by Mariana Angelova Yaneva;
Ivanka Velikova Tsvetanova-Petkova for president and Panayot Aleksandrov Kyuchukov for vice president, represented by Todor Stoychev Todorov;
Metodi Veselinov Bachvarov for president and Lenin Velinov Stanoev for vice president, represented by Dean Georgiev Garchev;
Ivo Ivanov Lulchev for president and Stefan Dimitrov Popov for vice president, represented by Hristina Ivanova Stefanova;
Iskra Yordanova Nedeva for president and Stoyan Rumenov Georgiev for vice president, represented by Dimitar Hristov Berov.
The deadline for registering nomination committees with the CEC is 5:00 p.m. on September 14.
Parties and coalitions can submit registration documents for the presidential election until September 9, while candidate registration is due to be completed by September 22, CEC spokesperson Stoyanka Balova-Tsvetkova said at the commission's first regular briefing.
