“Knowledge is not only a bridge between generations – it is also a tradition that gives us a future,” said Prof. Krasimira Staneva, Rector of Varna University of Management (VUM), during the official opening of the new academic year. She wished the students to keep their enthusiasm, remain curious and courageous, and to arrange their dreams in such a way that when they achieve them, they can truly enjoy them.

Prof. Staneva noted that this academic year VUM welcomes young people from 13 countries. Over the years, the university has hosted students from more than 50 nations around the world, she added.

The philosophy of the university, she emphasized, is based on integration and internationalization – a principle reflected in VUM’s leading position in certain areas of Erasmus mobility programmes. “In these times of rapid change, when digital transformation sets the rhythm of our lives, we have realized that innovation in teaching methods must come first,” Staneva said.

She highlighted that the university’s focus remains on a modern learning process supported by internationally recognized platforms. According to her, VUM is also expanding its partnership with the Metropolitan University in Budapest.

“The scope of our opportunities is constantly growing, which shows that the quality of education at VUM is highly valued,” Prof. Staneva concluded, adding that the true mission of small universities is to nurture spirituality.
