Ombudsman Velislava Delcheva held a working meeting with UK Ambassador Nathaniel Copsey, the Ombudsman’s office said on Friday.

The discussion covered several key topics, including the Ombudsman’s core priorities in protecting human rights, the rights of vulnerable groups, migration issues, the fight against domestic violence, and other current challenges. Possible areas for cooperation between the Ombudsman’s institution and the British Embassy were also outlined.

“The Ombudsman’s agenda is set by citizens’ real problems. Among my priorities are children at risk and in conflict with the law, older people, and the rights of persons with disabilities. I work actively to ensure transparency in the administration, compliance with European standards for the protection of human rights, and to encourage civic participation,” Delcheva said.

Copsey reaffirmed the United Kingdom’s commitment to dignity and equality for all and expressed readiness for future cooperation with the Ombudsman’s institution.
