A total of 526 schools in Bulgaria will have innovative status in the 2025/2026 school year, the Government information service reported here Wednesday.
The approved list includes schools from 191 settlements in 136 municipalities across all 28 districts of the country. Of these, 76 schools are new additions, while 450 already hоld this status.
Innovative schools develop and apply new teaching methods, introduce innovative elements in the organization and content of education, improve management, and share best practices.
The innovative processes are implemented over four years, with specific stages of progress and measurable results defined for each school year. These processes set out goals and ideas linked to students’ personal, intellectual, and emotional development.
This is the ninth consecutive year that the government has approved the list of innovative schools, a measure aimed at improving the quality of education, building professional communities within and among schools, and fostering a culture of innovation, creative thinking, and new approaches.
