site.btaBulgaria to Introduce Strict Amusement Ride Safety Regulations

Bulgaria will have some of the strictest regulations regarding the safety of amusement rides, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadjov said during his hearing before the Parliamentary Committee on Transport and Communications.
“Our regulations, together with those of Cyprus and Greece, will be the three strictest in terms of amusement ride safety,” the Deputy PM added.
The draft law on general safety requirements for providing amusement services that pose an increased risk was published for public consultation earlier in September, Karadjov noted.
For the first time at the national level, the law establishes general safety rules for providing high-risk amusement services, the Transport Ministry said. It sets out clear rules for the registration and oversight of amusement service providers. A public registry of amusement operators will be maintained by the Tourism Ministry, and registration will become a mandatory step for carrying out such activities.
