site.bta Entire Europe Motorway to Be Put into Operation on Sunday, Regional Development Minister Says
On Sunday, the entire Europe Motorway will be open for traffic, said Regional Development Minister Ivan Ivanov at a meeting of the parliamentary Committee on Regional Policy, Public Works, and Local Self-Government.
Road construction has been suspended or reduced to a minimum in recent years, and one of the Ministry's main tasks is the construction of motorways, Ivanov said. "That is why we have launched the construction of the Hemus Motorway. By the end of the month, the Boaza-Dermantsi section will be put into operation," he added.
"I have instructed the Road Infrastructure Agency to conduct a complete inventory of the country's road network by November 1 and identify outdated road signs," the Minister announced. There are over 50,000 signs on the 20,000-kilometer road network, according to the Road Infrastructure Agency.
