site.btaNew BGN 60 Mln Programme to Revitalize Community Centres and Libraries Across Bulgaria

The Labour and Social Policy Ministry is launching a new programme with a budget of BGN 60 million, Minister Borislav Gutsanov told a briefing at the Council of Ministers. The programme will allow the creation of 760 new digital clubs in chitalishta (community centers) and libraries, primarily in smaller towns and villages across the country.

"We are revitalizing the chitalishta, which is of key importance to these small communities. We are breathing new energy into community centers and libraries, which will be able to apply for grants for these projects," Gutsanov said.

The available support per application is BGN 53,000, which can be spent on renovations and purchasing computers or other necessary equipment. The first applications have already been submitted.
