A 13-year-old girl from Moldova has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of Burgas Hospital after suffering a seizure at Sunny Beach on Wednesday, the Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry in Burgas said on Thursday.

The girl, who was on the beach with her family, entered the sea, but had a panic attack, followed by a seizure and was knocked down by the waves. She was urgently transported to Burgas, where she was admitted to hospital on mechanical ventilation, in critical condition and with a risk to her life, the police specified.

The Interior Ministry said that a total of three people drowned on August 20 on the Southern Black Sea Coast as a result of the rip current. A 41-year-old man from Sofia drowned in an unguarded area near Silistar beach, a 72-year-old woman from Sofia drowned near the Kavatsi-South campsite, and a 35-year old tourist from the Czech Republic, drowned in the sea near the northern beach in Primorsko.
