A total of 10,233 textile products - blouses, T-shirts, hats, and sportswear - suspected of infringing trademark rights were seized on Tuesday by customs officials in the Vidin area, near the border with Romania.

Following a risk analysis, on August 8 in the Vidin area, customs officers from the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate stopped a freight train for inspection, which according to the transport documents was traveling from Turkiye to Belgium and France.

A thorough customs inspection subsequently revealed that part of the declared cargo consisted of items bearing popular trademarks. Customs officials had reasonable grounds to suspect that a total of 10,233 textile products violated trademark protection regulations. The owners of the respective trademarks will be notified of the case. The goods have been seized.
