On Monday, during its second meeting, the nomination committee for selecting members of the Anti-Corruption Commission admitted three of the four applicants to the next stage of the procedure. The four candidates are lawyer Adelina Natina-Zikolova, legal expert Maria Daskalova, legal expert Petar Koev, and Stoyan Petkov – the latter two currently serving as employees of the Anti-Corruption Commission.

The nomination committee did not rule on the eligibility of Adelina Natina-Zikolova due to incomplete documentation submitted with her application, granting her a three-day deadline to provide the missing materials. The committee’s next meeting is scheduled for August 15, when her eligibility will be reconsidered.

Members of the committee include Justice Ministry Secretary General Venera Milova, Supreme Bar Council lawyer Nina Sedefova, Supreme Court of Cassation member Kalin Kalpakchiev, Ombudsman’s Chief Secretary Aysun Avdzhiev and National Audit Office Vice President Silvia Kadreva.

The committee held its first session on August 1, at which time its chair, Silvia Kadreva, told reporters that she hoped the selection process for members and the leadership of the Anti-Corruption Commission would be completed by end-August.
