Some 2,000 households are affected by lack of electricity supply in the south-central town of Rakovski and nearby villages, said the local electricity distribution company, Elektrorazpredelenie Yug, on Thursday morning. The number varies depending on the weather conditions and energy consumption.
In this regard, the company advises local residents to use electricity wisely, as this will ease the load, and the network in the area will be easier to balance.
During the past night, the dispatchers of Elektrorazpredelenie Yug managed to balance the network supplying the town of Rakovski and nearby villages in a way that allowed power supply to practically all customers who are supplied by the 110/20kV Rakovski substation of the Electricity System Operator (ESO), which was damaged after Monday's storm.
Elektrorazpredelenie Yug will continue to balance the network in accordance with the resources available, technical capabilities, and safety and quality measures until the substation is made fully operational by the ESO teams.
The priority continues to be the power supply to Rakovski Hospital and the pumping stations of the water and sewerage utility in the area, for which Elektrorazpredelenie Yug has provided generators. The cells of mobile operators are also functioning, as the temporary power supply scheme applied allows charging their batteries.
On Wednesday, Minister of Energy Zhecho Stankov visited Rakovski Municipality to inspect on site the work on the restoration of the interrupted power supply in the area. He said that by Wednesday afternoon, all affected residents will have long-term power supply again.
