Power supply has been ensured for the critical infrastructure in the municipalities affected by the failure at the Rakovski substation, said on Wednesday Commissioner Plamen Ivanov, Deputy Director of the Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry in Plovdiv. After the severe thunderstorm on July 28, a failure occurred at the Rakovski substation in Rakovski Municipality, which provides power supply for four municipalities - Kaloyanovo, Maritsa, Brezovo, and Rakovski.

Commissioner Ivanov noted that generators have been provided for hospitals, gas supply and water pumping stations, as well as for the substations of mobile operators, as some of the settlements have disrupted power supply. According to EVN's capabilities, electricity is supplied to households at certain hours, Ivanov noted, adding that the supply of energy from generators is sometimes associated with extremely unpleasant noise during the summer months. He asked the residents of the affected municipalities to be patient.

The Regional Directorate of the Interior has formed a joint team with the fire department and a presence has been ensured in the region, so that citizens can be assured of peace during the repair period. Ivanov did not commit to a deadline for repairing the damage, but emphasized that the teams of the company carrying out the repairs are working 24 hours a day.
