site.btaCC Co-Chair Vassilev Files Lawsuit in Varna Court against Plamenka Dimitrova for Defamation

Continue the Change (CC) Co-Chair Assen Vassilev said on his Facebook page on Tuesday that he has filed a lawsuit in the Varna Regional Court against Plamenka Dimitrova for non-pecuniary damages caused by false, defamatory, offensive, and incriminating statements. Vassilev added that he filed a complaint with the Varna District Prosecutor’s Office calling for an investigation, as he alleged that Dimitrova accused him falsely.

Vassilev stated that the false accusation against him before the Counter-Corruption Commission and the prosecution service were made deliberately to make sure that his case is heard before the Sofia City Court and not before the prosecution service in Varna, which has jurisdiction over the matter.

Vassilev's post reads: "With these actions, I want all the facts and circumstances of the case to be examined by an independent and objective civil court located in the city of Varna, which the prosecution is trying to circumvent in every way possible."

Vassilev's name was linked to the investigation against Varna Mayor Blagomir Kotsev and three other people.
