site.btaTsarevo Municipality to Receive EU Funding for Renovation of Fishing Port

Tsarevo Municipality received approval on a project for the complete modernization of its fishing port as part of the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Programme 2021-2027, the municipal press centre said on Monday.

The project, developed in early 2025, will be financed with over BGN 3 million and envisages new concrete pavements, raising of water levels, building a fully equipped boat repair hall, as well as creating an additional building for storing fishing equipment and tools. One of the significant acquisitions will be a modular fueling station.

"Exceptional news and the first step towards the big dream of a renovated port", Tsarevo Mayor Marin Kirov emphasized. "We will modernize the existing fishing pier, but in parallel with this we are also preparing a project for the renovation of the public transport port", he added, noting that at the same time, the municipal administration is designing fishing boat docks in both Lozenets and Ahtopol.
