The world:

- International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.

On this date in Bulgarian history:

1948: Diplomatic relations are established with North Korea at the level of legations. Promoted to embassy level on May 5, 1955.

1988: The 1,000-megawatt Unit 5 of the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant starts to be brought on stream.

2001: The Government signs a three-year agreement with Britain's Crown Agents to reform the Bulgarian customs administration.

2006: The National Electricity Company signs an agreement with Russia's Atomstroyexport to build a second nuclear power plant in Bulgaria, at Belene.

November 30

Bulgaria:

- Feast Day of St Andrew, the First-Called Apostle. Church holiday.

- National Day of Barbados: Independence Day (1966).

On this date in Bulgarian history:

1876: Ambassadors' conference in Constantinople starts discussing options for autonomous Bulgarian State. 

1973: Memory devices factory unveiled in Stara Zagora.

1990: Seventh Grand National Assembly accepts PM Andrei Lukanov's resignation.

2007: Last conscripts discharged from Armed Forces. (Since December 1, 2007, Bulgaria has maintained an entirely professional army.)
