The 14th DiVino.Taste, the largest and most significant forum dedicated to Bulgarian wine, began at the Inter Expo Centre in Sofia on Friday. The event, which is on until November 30, brings together 75 winemakers from across Bulgaria's wine regions, offering visitors the chance to sample over 550 wines.

Emil Koralov, creator of the DiVino TOP 50 ranking, publisher of DiVino.bg and DiVino Magazine, and a board member of the Bulgarian Association of Wine Professionals (BAWP), recalled that the first edition of the event in 2011 was defined as a forum for Bulgarian wine. According to Koralov, the forum exists thanks to the winegrowers and winemakers who experiment, overcome difficulties and never give up on producing better wine. Koralov also expressed his gratitude to the people and institutions that have supported DiVino.Taste over the years.

Koralov noted that the next logical step for the forum is to expand and segment. In this regard, he announced that an international professional wine exhibition is being organised in Sofia, with the first edition planned for spring 2027. This new format will be much more focused on business and the people who make decisions, draw up lists, conclude contracts and build markets. He added that this does not affect DiVino's 2026 event schedule: DiVino TOP 50 at the end of March, DiVino.Taste at the end of November and Discover.Vino in spring, featuring Italy as the partner country.

Deputy Minister of Tourism Irena Georgieva said that the Ministry strongly believes that wine tourism is one of the ways for Bulgaria to become a sustainable year-round tourist destination. This was clearly demonstrated by the 9th UN Tourism Global Conference on Wine Tourism, which was organized jointly with the UN World Tourism Organisation in Plovdiv (South Central Bulgaria) in early October. According to Georgieva, Bulgarian wine tells the story of the country, reveals the spirit of the Bulgarian people, and is a wonderful calling card for Bulgarian tourism.

As in previous years, a diverse programme of masterclasses is planned for the upcoming edition. Topics include elegant white wines from Northeastern Bulgaria, a blind tasting of Syrah from Sakar, natural wines from Portugal, authentic local varieties from Northern Greece, and modern wine production from Poland. Visitors can also enjoy a gourmet zone offering culinary delights, quality foods, delicacies, cheeses, olive oils, chocolates, wine accessories and services. The full programme of masterclasses and lectures at DiVino.Taste is available online.
