The Counter-Corruption Commission has failed to combat corruption effectively, both before and after the legislative changes introduced in October 2023, Vazrazhdane stated in an official position. The party pointed to statistical evidence as proof of the institution's ineffectiveness.

In the statement, Vazrazhdane also accused the Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria coalition and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) of coordinated actions.

“This Commission, created by GERB, MRF, and CC-DB as a political bludgeon, is no longer convenient for CC-DB, and they now want it shut down. Immediately afterward, MRF’s Delyan Peevski demanded the same, which clearly shows they are working together,” the statement reads.

Earlier on Saturday, MRF – New Beginning leader Delyan Peevski posted on Facebook that the Commission should be abolished. He announced plans to submit a proposal for its dissolution and will push for a vote in the National Assembly next week during two parliamentary readings.

Atanas Atanasov, co-chair of Democratic Bulgaria, also spoke on Bulgarian National Television, calling the Commission a harmful and redundant institution that should be disbanded.
