site.btaEnvironment Ministry Urges Organizations to Give Away Water due to Extreme Heat

In view of the extremely high temperatures expected in the coming days, the Ministry of Environment and Water published on its Facebook page on Monday a call to all organizations and commercial establishments to give away water. The Ministry also urged employers to provide more shade for workers and reduce physical labour during high-risk hours

The Environment Ministry appealed for prudence and understanding because of the temperatures expected to break 40C, which would pose direct health risk to the elderly, children and people with chronic illnesses.

People are urged to be especially vigilant due to the risk of fires on the side of the road, in the forest, in fields and industrial sites. The Ministry called for compassion for stray animals and asked people to place bowls of water in appropriate places for them.
