Vasil Stefanov took the oath of office as a Member of Parliament, taking the place of Kiril Petkov of Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC–DB). Stefanov was sworn in as MP at the beginning of Friday's plenary sitting.
The National Assembly terminated the MP rights of Kiril Petkov on Thursday. He submitted his resignation on June 30 over a scandal related to allegations of pressure by Continue the Change on the mayors of Sofia's Lyulin and Mladost boroughs over public procurement.
