site.btaCabinet Approves Additional Funds for Archaeological Research and Field Conservation
The Council of Ministers allocated an additional BGN 1,800,000 for archaeological field studies and conservation under the budget of the Ministry of Culture for 2025, the Cabinet press service said here on Wednesday.
Thus, the government provides funding for the study in 2025 of seven strategic archaeological sites, of high scientific, cultural, historical and expositional value: Pliska, the first Bulgarian capital, the Apollonia Pontica ancient colony, Sts. Cyricus and Julitta Island, the medieval town of Kaliakra, the medieval Bulgarian capital Trapezitsa, the ancient town of Nicopolis ad Istrum, the Thracian settlement at the village of Vasil Levski, Karlovo Municipality, and the ancient and medieval town of Petrich Kale, Avren Municipality.
The additional funds will support the study, exhibition, promotion of the cultural heritage, attract the interest, commitment and support of the public to preserve it.
