"It is important right now to ensure the freedom and peace of mind of those traveling during the holiday season," said Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov at the start of Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting. Regarding traffic control and road management, Zhelyazkov noted that he held a working meeting with Interior Minister Daniel Mitov, during which they clarified the measures needed to ensure safe summer travel and the control efforts of the Ministry of Interior.

"We found that the parameters and results of these measures are bearing fruit," Zhelyazkov said, adding that it is particularly important during July and August, when traffic toward the Black Sea and Greece is heavy, to ensure proper road management, prevent accidents, and avoid creating frustration among drivers due to poor organization or the inappropriate behavior of other road users who go unpunished.

"That is why, with regard to emergency lanes, we are enforcing the maximum penalties for driving violations and ensuring continuous patrol vehicle presence," the Prime Minister added.
