The Agriculture Ministry Monday banned mowing and mulching as a wild fire precaution between July 10 and September 1, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. The ban has been imposed by order of Agriculture and Food Minister Georgi Tahov, the ministry’s press centre said.

An exception to the ban applies to Natura 2000 protected areas where mowing is allowed during the night provided it is done by hand or with slow mowers, moving from the centre to the periphery or from one end of the area to the other at a low speed.

The Agriculture Ministry calls on everyone to exercise caution and adhere to the fire safety rules.

Failure to comply with the order will be subject to fines and penalties under the Disaster Protection Act.
