site.btaRegional Development Minister, EU Regions Committee Chair Discuss EU Cohesion Fund

Regional Development and Public Works Minister Ivan Ivanov held a work meeting with the European Committee of the Regions Chair Kata Tutto on Tuesday, the Ministry's press centre reported.

The two officials discussed the EU Cohesion Fund which aims to strengthen economic, social and territorial cohesion through sustainable development within the EU. The Regional Development and Public Works Ministry governs part of the Cohesion Fund programmes in Bulgaria.

In their meeting, Ivanov and Tutto also examined Bulgaria’s work in programmes for energy efficiency improvement in residential buildings, social housing, and the EU Just Transition Fund for support of territories facing serious socio-economic challenges caused by the EU climate neutrality transition.

Ivanov noted that Bulgaria expects to maintain current works under the Cohesion Fund and hopes to receive support from more EU countries.
