site.btaMECh Leader Vassilev: Protest Against Euro Adoption Was Protest of People Who Want to Be Asked

It seems to me that this was a protest by people who want to be asked, those who want a referendum, Morality, Unity and Honor (MECh) party leader Radostin Vasilev said on Saturday, commenting on the Saturday nationwide protest against the euro and in support of the Bulgarian lev. According to him, there was a wide range of different people at the protests.
Vasilev said that, in his opinion, 90% of the people he saw in the squares were non-partisan. He noted that these were not people who did not understand or were unfamiliar with the issue. These people are much more aware of what they are doing there than those who blindly support the idea of being part of the eurozone, said the leader of MECh.
In response to a question about the head of state's proposal for a referendum on the euro, Vasilev said that, in his opinion, President Rumen Radev was late in proposing a national referendum.
