site.btaParliament Chair Says Dzhevdet Chakarov No Longer Member of DRF-MRF

National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova announced Wednesday that Parliament has been informed by the Democracy, Rights and Freedoms – MRF parliamentary group (DRF– MRF) about the expulsion of Dzhevdet Chakarov from the group and the election of Hayri Sadakov as its Floor Leader.

On Tuesday, after a meeting of the Central Operational Bureau of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) party, MEP Ilhan Kyuchyuk from the formation's Governing Council told journalists that the Bureau elected Hayri Sadakov as Floor Leader of the DRF-MRF.

In an announcement on the meeting, the MRF-New Beginning parliamentary group said that Chakarov resigned as Chairman of the MRF in order to "close the page of disunity and confrontation that have marked the last months." Afterwards, Chakarov announced that he was also leaving the DRF-MRF parliamentary group. In a statement to BTA, Chakarov said that after Tuesday's conversation with Peevski, he had decided to step down as co-chairman of the MRF in order to put an end to the division between the people.
