Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov recalled on his Facebook page that Bulgaria has given the world the Cyrillic alphabet. His remark was made on the occasion of the Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, the Bulgarian Alphabet, Education and Culture, and Slav Letters.

"Happy May 24, Bulgarians! Let us never forget that 'we have also given something to the world - a book for all Slavs to read," he wrote, referring to an ode by Bulgarian writer Ivan Vazov.
