Bulgaria must have a stable government that defends the national interest, said the National Assembly Nataliya Kiselova during the meeting of the leadership of the National Council and the Sofia City Council of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP). Ministers from the BSP-United Left quota also joined the conversation. The desire is to realistically work on the formation’s pre-election goals, added Kiselova.

The situation in which the National Assembly was constituted and the regular government was elected was complex both internally and externally, she recalled and added that currently there is a fundamental change in the international situation and two blocs have been formed.

The National Assembly Chair added that the increase in the number of parliamentary groups makes the work of the National Assembly even more difficult.

Kiselova noted that during the plenary session, from January to the Easter vacation of the National Assembly, its composition increased by another parliamentary group, which led to the loss of one MP from the BSP-United Left.

As a plus in the work of Parliament, Kiselova noted the adoption of the three budget laws, the State Budget Act , as well the State Social Insurance Budget Act and the National Health Insurance Fund Budget Act.

The vote on the declaration of non-participation of Bulgarian armed forces in Ukraine was also a positive act, said Kiselova and defined it as a significant success of the left.

The BSP’s decision to enter government was related to the need to end the political crisis, because this country needs political stability, stated BSP Chair and Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Zafirov in his report that he presented during the meeting
