PM Calls Extraordinary Meeting of Security Council to Discuss Risks of Revoking Derogation for Processing Russian Oil

Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov has called an extraordinary meeting of the Security Council of the Council of Ministers on the bill to amend the Control of the Implementation of Restrictive Measures in view of Russia's Actions Destabilizing the Situation in Ukraine Act, the Council of Ministers press service reported here on Monday. The meeting will be held on Thursday, 8 a.m.

National Assembly Chair Rosen Zhelyazkov, the chairs of the parliamentary committees on energy, foreign policy, European Union Affairs and Economic Policy and Innovation, Delian Dobrev, Boyko Borissov, Kiril Petkov and Hamid Hamid respectively, have been invited to participate.

The focus of the meeting will be the assessment of the consequences and risks for the national security in case of the adoption of the bill, which provides for the revocation of the derogation granted by the EU Council for the processing of Russian oil from the Bulgarian refinery within three days.

Reports on the subject will be presented by the competent authorities - the State Agency for National Security, the State Intelligence Agency, as well as the Defence Intelligence Service.
