On Tuesday, the European Parliament will vote on Iliana Ivanova's candidacy for the next European Commissioner from Bulgaria, according to the MEPs' agenda in Strasbourg. The vote is expected to be at 1 pm Bulgarian time.

Last week, Ivanova successfully passed the hearing before the EP committees in Brussels related to her future activity. She received the approval of the Conference of Presidents of the European Parliament and after Tuesday's vote, which is expected to be pretty straightforward, she is to be appointed with the support of the Council of the EU.

Ivanova is expected to take up the post of European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth until the end of the EC mandate next fall.
