A march in support of Bulgaria’s future as a parliamentary republic and a member of the European Union and NATO took place in central Sofia on Friday evening. The demonstration was organized by the Justice for All Initiative and brought together thousands of people.

The march started from the President's Administration building, proceeded to National Assembly Square and blocked traffic at the Eagles Bridge.

The participants chanted "It is not Moscow here!". They carried Bulgarian, EU and Ukrainian flags and displayed placards reading “Radev, feel free to fade in the East”, “Radev - national traitor”, and “79 years are enough”. The chants and placards were against Russia’s influence in Bulgaria and Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, whom politicians and observers describe as a conduit for such influence.

In front of the protesters, Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria MP Yavor Bozhankov said that Bulgaria should remain a member state of the EU and NATO.

This is the second protest against President Radev within a week. On May 30, several thousand opponents to Radev's allegedly pro-Russia stance gathered in front of the President's Administration building in central Sofia.
