Personnel from the Special Operations Forces of Bulgaria and the United States enhanced their operational interoperability during a joint exercise hosted by Bulgaria’s Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), the Bulgarian Defence Ministry said on Tuesday.
The Joint Combined Exchange Training (JCET) exercise brought together formations from both countries’ special forces and was conducted throughout June.
The focus of the joint training was the detailed execution and refinement of a broad range of tactics, techniques, and procedures. Service members practiced planning and conducting raids, ambushes, and urban combat operations. Special attention was also given to battlefield medical care, particularly the management of critical situations in isolated environments where immediate medical evacuation is not possible.
Modern operational challenges also required participants to integrate and effectively use unmanned aerial systems (UAS) for reconnaissance, target engagement, and close fire support.
All training activities were carried out in close partnership between Bulgarian and US special operations forces, contributing to improved interoperability and the exchange of practical experience between the two countries, the press release further said.
