site.btaBulgarian Prosecution Office Provides Summarized Information on Violations, Crimes Related to April 2 Parliamentary Elections


Since the beginning of the election campaign (March 3, 2023) until 1 pm on March 31, 545 files and 112 pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in connection with violations of citizens' political rights, related to the April 2 elections for the 49th National Assembly, the Prosecution Office said Friday.
The initiated pre-trial proceedings per appellate region in Bulgaria were 36 in Sofia, 28 in Burgas, 15 in Plovdiv, 21 in Varna, and 12 in Veliko Tarnovo.
The Supreme Cassation Prosecution Office has a duty unit of prosecutors and officials that summarises the information received from prosecution services across the country. Citizens and organisations can submit signals to the e-mail addresses of the respective prosecution services in the country, which are also published on the website of the Prosecution Office.
The National Inter-Agency Unit, which coordinates the activities of the Prosecution Office and the State Agency National Security to ensure a prompt and adequate response to counter crimes related to the election process and the lawful conduct of parliamentary elections, continues to function, the press release said.
