site.btaBulgarian Government to Discuss Regional Governor Appointments, Security Agency Changes
The Council of Ministers is set to consider a draft decision on the dismissal and appointment of regional governors at a meeting starting at 10:00 a.m. here on Wednesday, the Government press service said.
The agenda also includes a draft decision for the early dismissal of a deputy chairperson of the State Agency for National Security.
Ministers are also expected to discuss amendments to the Rules of Procedure of the Council of Ministers and its administration, originally adopted in 2009.
Cabinet is due to appoint representatives of the Council of Ministers to the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation.
The Government is also expected to approve a proposal to the President for the issuance of decrees concerning the dismissal from office and military service of a senior-ranking officer, as well as the appointment of a serviceperson as acting holder of a vacant post requiring a senior high military.
On May 8, Parliament elected Rumen Radev as Prime Minister and approved the Government proposed by him, which subsequently took the oath of office. The Council of Ministers consists of the Prime Minister, four deputy prime ministers and 18 ministers.
Prime Minister Radev outlined the priorities of the new Government and stressed that its success would depend on close cooperation between Cabinet and the National Assembly.
