On this day, with pride and gratitude, Bulgarians bow their heads before the honour, courage and unwavering loyalty to the homeland of generations of Bulgarian soldiers who have bravely defended the country’s freedom and independence, reads a congratulatory message by Air Force Commander Major General Nikolay Rusev to servicemen on the occasion of the Day of Valour and Bulgarian Armed Forces Day, published on the official Facebook page of the Air Force on Wednesday.

"We, the people with blue epaulettes, with determination and dedication, carry their legacy in our hearts and high in the sky. Behind every flight stand knowledge, skills, discipline, trust and teamwork. Behind every mission stand men and women who, with their commitment, hard work and professionalism, guarantee the security of the Bulgarian sky," Rusev added.

"Let the traditions of the Bulgarian Air Force continue to inspire us, and let our shared mission to serve Bulgaria unite us and lead us forward. Let Bulgaria’s sky be peaceful, and let the Bulgarian Air Force remain purposeful, resilient and worthy of the trust of Bulgarian society," the Air Force Commander wished.

He thanked the servicemen for their strong spirit, responsibility and dignified service.
