Aylin Pehlivanova is the top-of-the-list candidate of Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria for Shumen's 30th multi-member constituency, according to a decision of the Constituency Election Commission.
Pehlivanova told BTA she graduated from the American University in Bulgaria with two bachelor's degrees, in Business Administration and Economics. She has worked as a financial analyst in a large international company and in financial audit across different industries. In the private sector, she managed teams and commercial activities, as well as a network of retail outlets for farm products. She has been responsible for brand development, commercial strategies, budgets and analyses in the food industry.
She is a member of the 51st National Assembly from Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria. She is a member of the Committee on Agriculture, Food and Forestry and of the Committee on the Policies for Bulgarians Abroad. Pehlivanova said she is active on issues related to the development of agriculture, support for real producers and the efficiency of institutions. Within the agriculture committee, she has raised the issue of the need for technical improvement of the Hail Suppression Agency. She is also engaged with the problems of small and medium-sized livestock farmers, in particular cattle breeders, consistently defending the need for policies aimed at real production. She supports the development of beef cattle breeding by encouraging fattening in Bulgaria so that added value remains in the country. She added that from the parliamentary rostrum she has expressed a clear position against limiting the voting rights of Bulgarians abroad, including proposals to reduce the number of polling stations outside Bulgaria. Pehlivanova is 39 years old, married and has two children.
