Prime Minister Rumen Radev will visit Dobroslavtsi Air Base on Thursday, where a high-tech industrial park and space and defence R&D centre will be built. Deputy Prime Ministers Alexander Poulev and Atanas Pekanov will also attend, the government information service said.
The Bulgarian government on Wednesday approved a draft memorandum of understanding with Starbase Europe EOOD on cooperation in the implementation of the priority investment project, High-Tech Industrial Park and Space and Defence R&D Centre - Dobroslavtsi.
In July, President Iliana Iotova visited the space centre of Bulgarian aerospace manufacturer EnduroSat, where she watched the launch of 10 satellites designed and manufactured by the Bulgarian company from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. Among EnduroSat’s future projects is the transformation of the former Dobroslavtsi Air Base into a large-scale space and technology campus.
The Dobroslavtsi Economic Zone embodies the government’s priorities in the field of economic development. The zone facilitates collaboration with innovative Bulgarian companies and provides strong support for Bulgarian industry in high value-added sectors, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Investment and Industry Poulev said in May.
