The alert about the three bodies found near the Petrohan hut came in at around 11:30 a.m. on February 2 and three firearms were seized, Deputy Minister of Interior Filip Popov told parliament on Wednesday.
Lawmakers were hearing Outgoing Minister of Environment and Water Manol Genov, Interior Ministry officials, the acting head of the State Agency for National Security (SANS) and a representative of the State Agency for Child Protection on the Petrohan case.
On February 2, at around 11:30 a.m., an alert was received via the 112 emergency number reporting that a person had found three male bodies in the Petrohan area, in front of the Petrohan hut, and that the hut had partially burned in a fire. An inspection was conducted, and the bodies were identified as Ivaylo Ivanov, Plamen Statev, and Decho Vasilev. Part of the hut had been completely burned, Popov said.
Near the bodies, investigators found a firearm loaded with 13 rounds and a cartridge in the chamber; another firearm loaded with 12 rounds and a cartridge in the chamber; and a rifle containing a spent casing and no ammunition, Popov added.
The firearms were seized, and swabs for gunshot residue and under-nail samples were collected from the bodies and sent for autopsy and forensic medical examination, Popov said.
